Walk & Talk Therapy

Sometimes healing feels easier when we’re moving.

Walk & Talk Therapy is a session held outdoors instead of in the office. Rather than sitting across from each other, we walk side-by-side at a comfortable pace in a nearby safe, public setting. For many adults and teens, this feels more natural, less intense, and more grounding.

Movement can help reduce anxiety, regulate the nervous system, and gently access emotions that feel stuck. Being in nature often softens perfectionism, lowers defenses, and makes hard conversations feel more manageable.

Walk & Talk sessions are available for established clients when clinically appropriate and weather permitting. We will review confidentiality considerations and safety guidelines together beforehand.

Nervous System Focused:

Healing doesn’t only happen in a chair.

Walk & Talk Therapy integrates movement, fresh air, and nervous system regulation into your session. Gentle walking can support emotional processing by engaging bilateral movement (similar to other trauma-informed approaches) while helping the body release stress.

Many clients who struggle with:

  • Anxiety

  • Perfectionism

  • Trauma-related stress

  • Emotional overwhelm

  • Feeling “stuck”

find that walking helps them access thoughts and emotions more fluidly.

Sessions are held in a public outdoor setting and are offered for teens and adults when appropriate. We will discuss privacy, pacing, and safety prior to scheduling.
